1889 British Cavalry Chromolithograph – 14th Hussars Regiment (Full Dress)

Price

£95.00

Original chromolithograph dated 1889, depicting mounted trooper of the 14th Hussars in full dress uniform. Features deep navy pelisse with gold frogging, crimson accents, and white plume busby—all consistent with late 19th-century hussar ceremonial dress. Horse posture, composition, and palette suggest illustrator working in the Simkin style, though no visible signature present.

Please note the print has been protected with glossy cellophane wrapping which impacts on the photograph. I have included an enhanced photograph to show how it may look without wrapping and under high colour temperature light.

Titled “14th HUSSARS” below scene in serif typeface. Backing label confirms date and format: “Colour Chromolithograph 1889.” No foxing or surface damage to the print; colours remain strong beneath protective cellophane. Mounted size approx. 45 × 36 cm. Slight scuff to upper left corner of mounting card—print surface untouched.
